We love green beans too. I grow a bed of bush beans and pole beans too. My pole beans are growing along beautifully but the bush beans had some spotty germination so not as nice a stand as I had last year. Oh well, between the two crops I will have more than we can use. We always blanch and freeze them for use in the winter months.
ReplyDeleteThat happened with my pole beans because they were older and I think some squirrels got some here and there. I just keep filling in where there is an empty spot! I hope that I will be able to freeze. Not only am I crazy about green beans but my girls can eat a bunch too.
ReplyDeleteDelicious looking harvest! We planted the Franchi radicchio mix, chicoria misti, but it looks like one variety has overtaken the others so far... I'll be following your planting to see what to expect!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out which red ones are in that mix. I have done Verona and they are good. Small also, but they don't look that crunchy and tender. I am also going to try Palla Rosso this year. We shall see. I am most excited about the Puntarelle!!!!
DeleteI love green beans, and plan to plant some next spring. What a terrific harvest!
ReplyDeleteBeans always grow well here but this year I don't think I planted enough :(
ReplyDeleteyou can always grow more. that's what is so great about beans!
DeleteBeautiful harvest. I also plant a whole bed of bush beans, usually Provider and Jade. This year I added pole beans as well. You can only eat so much salad but I can eat a huge quantity of beans.
ReplyDeletewow I can't beleive you have peas AND green beans and squash! I usually have quite a gap between peas and summer veggies!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a crazy spring here. I may have been a tad late getting my peas in!
DeleteYour beans look great. I planted beans for the first time this year. I think they are almost ready to harvest. Hope mine look as good as yours!
ReplyDeleteThanks! They say beans are usually the easiest. I am thankful I am finally having a better year. It has been good to do a variety of beans and more disease resistant ones. Although Roma II are supposed to be disease resistant they never did very well here. Good Luck!
DeleteNice green beans! With a whole bed of beans you should have plenty to eat and freeze. This is my first year growing beans for drying- kidney and black. I'm hoping they produce well.
